Russian chess player Yakov Estrin was born on 21 April 1923 in Moscow. His peak World Ranking was 63rd (in December 1953). His peak rating according to Chessmetrics is 2595. He never won the World Champion title and did not play World Championship matches. He participated in one Chess Olympiad in 1976 where he won team gold medal with the Soviet Union team.
